ABOUT US

CONTINUING WHAT WAS STARTED.
A place of hope and healing for men
seeking freedom from addiction.

A PLACE OF HOPE AND HEALING

Our Vision is to empower individuals overcoming substance use and co-occurring disorders to achieve independence and reintegrate into their families and communities. By supporting those re-entering society from prisons and jails, we aim to transform rural communities and break generational cycles, offering hope for a brighter future.

At Safe Harbor, we believe every individual is created with inherent value and purpose. Guided by faith, compassion, and hope, we are committed to providing personalized care that empowers individuals to overcome substance use and co-occurring disorders.

We recognize that each person’s journey is unique. By meeting individuals where they are, we focus on their strengths, honoring their past while helping them build a future rooted in independence, healing, and restored relationships.

Through holistic, evidence-based practices integrated with spiritual guidance, we create a safe and nurturing environment that fosters transformation. Our goal is to help individuals reconnect with their families, reintegrate into their communities, and break generational cycles of adversity—one step, one day, and one life at a time.

At the heart of our philosophy is the belief that lasting recovery is possible when individuals feel seen, heard, and supported in every aspect of their lives.

TIPTON COUNTY LOCATION

Our Safe Harbor of Tipton County location opened in September 2021. It is located on a 20 acre campus, which was built in 1905 as Dunlap Orphanage. One of the founders of the orphanage said that they wanted to build a place to see little hands discover what God has for them. We are proud to continue that vision as an orphanage, the only difference is the hands are bigger!

We are able to house 74 men in our Safe Harbor of Tipton County Program and 18 women in our Fresh Start Program at the new property in Brighton, TN. We are so excited to be able to expand to this beautiful location and continue the work that was started over 25 years ago.

We want to continue to shine the Light of Jesus into the darkness of this world to see these now bigger hands discover the freedom and life God has for them! God’s ways are higher than our ways; His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. It’s overwhelming to think back to every step He ordered for this moment. We give Him glory, Amen!

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Picture
"At Safe Harbor, we believe that true transformation happens when lives are restored from the inside out. Every man and woman who comes through our doors has a story - many have experienced addiction, homelessness, incarceration, broken relationships, and hopelessness. Yet we see something greater: we see potential, purpose, and the opportunity for a new beginning.

Our mission goes far beyond providing food, shelter, or a place to stay. We are committed to helping individuals rebuild their lives through faith, accountability, counseling, life-skills training, recovery support, and meaningful employment. We believe that when a person encounters hope and experiences lasting change, entire families can be transformed.

I’ve often said that many of the problems we face in America today could be changed by putting a genuine man of God back into every home. When fathers are restored, families are strengthened. When families are strengthened, communities become healthier. And when communities are healthier, generations are changed.
That is why we do what we do.

Our goal is not simply to help someone get sober or find a job. Our goal is to see lives redeemed and families restored. We want the children of our participants to grow up seeing a different example than the one addiction provided. If we do this right, those children will never have to walk in the same footsteps as their fathers because their fathers returned home transformed and equipped to lead their families in a new direction.

Together, we are breaking cycles of addiction, restoring hope, and creating a legacy of change that will impact generations to come.

Thank you for partnering with us in this mission. Your support is helping change lives today and shaping brighter futures for tomorrow. We are grateful for your generosity and pray God’s blessings upon you and your family."
